We are pleased to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive network infrastructure upgrade at the Higher Education and Science Center (HESC), carried out by the ASNET-AM team at the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems (IIAP).
This project involved a full renovation of the structured cabling system and the deployment of advanced network hardware across the entire campus.
Key Technical Upgrades:
- Core Network Infrastructure:
Installation of high-performance 10G-enabled routers, core distribution switches, and general-purpose edge switches.
- Wireless Network:
Deployment of high-speed 5G-enabled Wi-Fi Access Points equipped with internal dual-redundant controllers to ensure high availability and seamless connectivity.
- Cabling & Hardware Setup:
Complete replacement of legacy cabling alongside end-to-end device installation and configuration.
As a result of this modernization, the entire HESC territory now benefits from a robust, high-speed wired network and seamless Wi-Fi coverage featuring the global eduroam SSID, enabling secure academic connectivity for staff, researchers, and visitors.
