The ASNET-AM backbone consists of network communication nodes in 4 cities of Armenia which are interconnected by fiber-optics and wireless links. Each node connects the nearby Scientific, Research, Educational and Cultural Organisations.
ASNET-AM main nodes include:
- Presidium of NAS RA
- Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems
- Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory
- Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics
- Scientific Research Institute of Radio Measurements
- Institute of MicroBiology
- National Statistical Service
There are also more than 30 other organizations connected to that nodes. Among them are:
Fundamental Library of NAS RA, Institute of Mathematics, Institute of Mechanics, Institute of Molecular Biology, Institute of Chemical Physics, Institute of Oriental Studies, Institute of History, Institute of Language, Institute of Art, Museum of Armenian Genocide, National Gallery of Armenia, Institute of Physiology, Institute of Philosophy and Law, Institute of Geologycal Sciences, Institute of Hydroecology and Ichthyology, International Scientific Technical Center, National Institute of Health, Drug Agency, Institute for Physical Research, Engineering Center, Garni Geophysical Observatory, Institute of Hydroponics Problems, Center for Ecological Noosphere Studies, Institute of Applied Problems of Physics, Institute of Biochemistry, Central Library System, State Institute of Skill Advance on Informatics.
With the support from National Foundation of Science and Advanced Technologies ASNET-AM Infrastructure was extended to interconnect also following organizations: Center of Medical Genetics, Institute of Organic Chemistry, Institute of General & Inorganic Chemistry, Institute of Fine Organic Chemistry, Institute of Zoology, Institute of Botany, Institute of Biotechnology, Molecular Structure Research Center, Yerevan State University, State Engineering University of Armenia, Agricultural Academy, Yerevan Physics Institute.
Thus more than 50 scientific, research, educational, cultural and other organisations currently constitute the ASNET-AM network. Total number of personal users (scientists, scientific and technical associates, post-graduates, students and others) is more than 500.
