Academic Scientific Research Computer Network of Armenia (ASNET-AM) unifies Academic, Scientific, Research, Educational, Cultural and other organizations, which are engaged in scientific and educational activity.

ASNET-AM was created in 1994. The structure and policy of ASNET-AM operation was developed and realized by the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems (IIAP) of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA).

The administration of ASNET-AM is located in the Presidium of the NAS RA. By the decision of the Presidium of NAS RA the ASNET-AM Network Council and ASNET-AM Network Administration is responsible for administration and the development of the network.

09:03:2010 - 12.03.2010 - ASNET-AM 2009 Annual report meeting

ASNET-AM 2009 Annual report meeting took place on 12.03.2010 at National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.

The meeting was chaired by Academician Yuri Shoukourian,
with the presence of honourable guests:
- The President of the National Academy of Sciences of RA -
Academician Radik Martirosyan
- The Head of the State Committee of Science - Samvel Harutyunyan
- Heads of most Institutes of NAS RA.

  • 01:03:2010 - Renewed MultiServer WebMail system at MAIL.SCI.AM
    Our MultiServer WebMail system at MAIL.SCI.AM is now also made multilanguage (Armenian, English, Russian)!

    There is also a NEWs for PNAS users inside, available after login.

    Users of many ASNET-AM Mail Servers can use this page to operate their mails.
    If you have an account on some ASNET server go to MAIL.SCI.AM and try yourself.

    If it fails, this probably means that server doesn't have enough capability to operate with our renewed WebMail system. Ask the system administrator of that server to contact root@sci.am for details.

  • 11:03:2008 - IIAP NAS RA becomes RIPE NCC Member

    On 11.03.2008 IIAP NAS RA has been registered in
    the Reseaux IP Europeens Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) and since that moment has the status of Local Internet Registry (LIR).

    RIPE NCC membership allows IIAP NAS RA to get own IP address pool for address assignment and appropriate AS numbers for advertisement in the world Internet.


    01:03:2008 - NAS RA participates in BSI project

    National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA, Armenia) participates in BSI (Black Sea Interconnection) project from Armenia.

    BSI project is being implemented under 7th Framework Programme of European Commission (FP7) and has a goal to develop a high-speed backbone network among the NRENs of the South Caucasus countries and enable connectivity to the pan-European research and education GÉANT2 network.

    BSI is a 24 month project that has started on 01.03.2008.
